I am a mother of two children. One grown and one who is in middle school. I do not have a good relationship with alcohol and it goes back about 10 years. It is rooted in the lie that teachers and moms need alcohol to cope and that is okay. It is not okay and more supports should be in place. I am learning to ask for those supports. As of 9/20 - I am 40 days alcohol free. I have not used a program or AA. This blog is part of my healing as I recount my journey through writing.
